Speed maps show the way at Randwick
Randwick was a Good 3 last Saturday with the rail out 3m for the entire circuit which saw all of the favours afforded to backmarkers. The rail moves out to the 4m mark on Saturday and with warmer weather forecasted before a late shower in the day, the track is likely to be a Good 4 to Soft 5 with plenty of give in it. This will provide all runners a fair chance in the running.
Track bias plays a significant role in identifying a speed map special, along with race tempo and pressure. We’ve found two runners that will be benefiting from the track conditions on Saturday.
Randwick Race 6 #6 Dreamforce
Will lead with ease from lane three. The John Thompson trained galloper will be ridden by promising apprentice Blaike McDougall whose 2kg claim will provide Dreamforce a 10kg advantage on the highly rated top weight. McDougall was aboard Dreamforce in his impressive 5.5L victory last start over the Randwick 1600m in a run that caught plenty of punters’ attention.
This gelding is on the way up and will be hard to chase down. Dreamforce is currently $2.40 fixed odds.
Randwick Race 7 #8 Samadoubt
Fought on impressively after leading against the backmarker bias at Randwick last week to finish third in what appears to be a good form race. With dual acceptor Crafty Cop opting for the Magic Millions carnival, Samadoubt will be the front runner on a track which will afford him more favours this time around.
Another tick with in-form apprentice Rachel King taking the ride to give the Bjorn Baker trained runner a 4.5kg weight relief . Samadoubt is currently $4.60 fixed odds.
