We've singled out two best bets for Wednesday racing at Randwick & Sandown
Mid-week racing in NSW heads to Royal Randwick, with the track expected to be a Good 4 following some well overdue showers last week. With the rail out 12m the track is likely to favour on-pace runners and prove difficult for horses to make up ground in the home straight.
The main Victorian fixture is the twilight meeting at Sandown Lakeside, where the rail is out 3m and the track rated a Good 3. Last time we saw this set-up was on January 3rd when there was a bias towards on-pace runners.
Randwick Race 3 #7 Ridicule
Resumes off a recent Rosehill trial and looks ready to fire first-up. The Brad Widdup trained filly has drawn perfectly in barrier three which will allow jockey Corey Brown to jump and either lead or race right on the speed. The daughter of So You Think looks a class above these and a great bet at the $3 fixed odds.
Sandown Lakeside Race 2 #5 Danbana
Draws perfectly in barrier one for his second career start. Jockey Ben Allen retains the ride after an impressive debut where the colt led them up but found one too strong beaten 1 length, with a clear gap back to third. The Nigel Blackiston trained galloper should get a similar run here, and with a repeat of his last effort, prove too difficult to chase down. Danbana is currently $5.50 fixed odds.
