About Paul Kent

Despite having a professional rugby league career that only lasted for one game (or perhaps because of it), Paul Kent is one of the most respected and esteemed journalists working in the NRL media landscape. Despite a bevy of journalistic accomplishments, he is best known as the co-host of NRL 360, a talk show on Fox Sports where the games, incidents and issues of the game are dissected by Kent, co-host Ben Ikin, and guest panellists.

In Round 20 of 1989, Kent played halfback for the Parramatta Eels in their 30 to 6 victory over the North Sydney Bears. Playing alongside Parramatta greats Brett Kenny and Peter Wynn, Kent enjoyed a resounding victory, earning the droll statistic of leaving professional rugby league as an undefeated player.

However, it is Kent’s long and decorated career in journalism that has established him as one of the leading voices in the game. As a sports writer for the Daily Telegraph, Kent has reported on a plethora of major sporting events including Olympics, FIFA World Cups, Tours De France and tennis Grand Slams. Not limited to sports, Kent has reported on major news stories including the invasion of Iraq and various natural disasters. Kent has also written two biographies, one on Sonny Bill Williams and the other on Johnny Lewis.

Before his current position co-hosting NRL 360, Kent also appeared on several television shows, most notably on channel seven’s The Matty Johns Show. But it is on NRL 360 where he has excelled, demonstrating his extensive knowledge and profound understanding of the ins and outs of rugby league, both on and off the field. Not afraid to speak his mind, Kent is also a popular member on Triple M’s Sunday NRL Show, where he often unleashes on the Sydney airwaves, much to the delight of listeners.
