About Tony Brassel

Tony Brassel is one of the most respected and hard-working form analysts in Australia. Every week, he demonstrates his enormous tipping prowess by providing his free racing tips for the major meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays for Racenet.

Brassel was born to work in the racing industry. He comes from a racing family and has spent his life in and around horses. Combine this racing pedigree with his decades of experience as a racing journalist and form expert, and there aren't many tipsters who would claim to have a broader horse racing knowledge than Brassel.

Tony Brassel's selections are provided prior to race day via his personal Best Bet's article he publishes. You can often find "Brass" tweeting and giving in run commentary via his twitter page.

Each selection from Tony is recorded at thegreattipoff.com as part of his tipping history. Brassel usually provides his selections and best bets for major metropolitan, country and provincial meetings in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. This is all dependant on where he finds value in the market.

A firm believer that it's impossible to absorb every piece of information when doing form analysis, Brassel nonetheless has his methods. He's a keen student of trial form, with his decades of experience blessing him with a trained eye to spot horses ready to give their all in a race.

Brassel also subscribes to the belief that each expert has a strong suit when it comes to tipping. Brassel's self-identified strength is tipping two and three year olds.

But above all, Brassel believes in keeping it simple. He often quotes Pittsburgh Phil's famous line, "a good horse, a good jockey, a good bet." While Brassel's form analysis is far more extensive than this, it's a good starting point.

For punters looking for some free horse racing tips, it's hard to go past Brassel. Not only does he tend to steer you in the right direction with his tips, but his insights and comments give valuable insight into all things racing.
