While there is always questionable quality in races outside of the Cup in the first Tuesday in November, this race contradicts that mantra. With a nice field of sprinters assembled at Listed grade, it should be an intriguing betting affair.
A number of quality Sydney types continue their campaigns here deep into Spring. They come up against a number of light weight hopes who appear to be here purely for the owners mounting yard access passes on the big Cup day.
Bet with confidence on the class runners at the top of the weights.

Racing Market Movers
A move at odds here in early betting for After All That, who has been $19 into $13. Race favourite Trekking is on the drift, out to $4.40 from $3.70.
#2 First Among Equals $13
Is the class runner and has been running around in very strong grade in his past few.
He took on Group 2 company in his latest to finish 8 of 10 behind I Am Excited and in the start prior, he ran second to Dothraki in the same grade.
That form is excellent for this race, where he should relish taking on less quality.
From gate 7, Damian Lane will have him tucked in behind the leading division before easing across their heels to hit the line hard late.
#5 Brave Song $7.50
Has raced well all throughout this prep, including the last start win at Caulfield in Listed grade.
He has been down the Flemington straight twice before, winning once and placing on the other occasion which suggests he enjoys this track and journey.
Gate 14 may be the wrong part of the track if they decide to race down the centre and inside, as was the preferred lanes on Derby day.
However, he will be getting back in the field and ridden to his preferred run-on pattern, hence the draw is not imperative. Will be storming home hard over the top. Big chance.
#6 Trekking $3.70 > $4.40
Can forgive the last start failure in Listed grade at Caulfield, when the the rail was on fire and it was extremely difficult to make up ground from the back all day.
He is one of the Godolphin stable favourites and was very dominant all the way through this prep until last start.
Expect him to return to winning form here with any tempo present. Must go on top.
#7 Snitzcraft $8.50
Is well travelled following Queensland campaigns at last two preparations.
She took on some quality gallopers in the Magic Millions Sprint last prep and ran an absolute bottler when placing second behind the very smart Viddora.
Any return to that form would see her put these to the sword.
Draws out wider than preferred (gate 15), however has the tactical speed to overcome and possibly lead. Can win.
#9 Tversky $7.50
Queensland visitor who looks significantly outclassed in this following a four win picket fence in only moderate grade in the Sunshine State.
This reeks of owners demanding to the trainer that their horse be entered on Cup day for the family trip to Melbourne - here for the hospitality and mounting yard privileges only.
Simply outclassed and won't be troubling any of these. No.
#13 After All That $13
Was a noted drifter in betting markets close to jump in the inaugural running of The Kosciuszko, where he can be forgiven considering the Heavy track.
He gets back onto a good surface here and can improve dramatically, although will be forced to overcome a significant class rise.
This field appears too hot for him and prefer others. No.
Of The Others
#16 Holbien is back in distance and can find the lead here to run them all along at a good clip.
That profile has been successful of late, where runners who have been over further ground come back to a shorter distance to dominate.
Will be kicking for a long way and the current price in betting is appealing at $18. Yes.
