Trainers
I know, just like every else, the next most important element in racing, after the horse ( of course, of course - never missed Mr Ed), is, The Trainer.
Now not all of us can tune in 24/7 to the racing media, who do an excellent job on interviewing/featuring trainers. So, I do feel there's room, amongst all the numbers and comments that go into making up race form, for a Trainers Prediction.
Put it this way, if I was making a business out of horse ownership and breeding, I would only be interested in having a punt on the horses I had a financial interest in - and that would be guided 100% by the advice from the trainer. We don't all have a connection to the behind scenes activity of horse training. Why not have the trainer's prediction - a simple percentage scale of the expected level of performance from the horse. You might have a 'Bradbury' moment from time to time, but the stats show, that around 70% of winners, are well in the betting market - first or second favourites. I love to hear trainers interviewed, but it's not always possible to read between the lines or know how to decode the language used. So, a simple 'TP', Trainers Prediction, expressed in a percentage range, would help punters make a better informed decision. And after all, our sport expanded from the sport of kings, to a peoples sport, by allowing the entertainment option/participation from ordinary people, to have a bet on a race.
