Randwick Race 1 #2 Calculated
The son of two-time Cox Plate winner So You Think, has been screaming out for the Randwick 1400m after running over 1100m & 1200m this preparation. The colt drops 1kg off his last start where he ran an impressive third when caught four wide in a race lacking tempo.
Expect Calculated to relish the extra ground here and prove that he’s a class above this field. Calculated is currently $3.60 fixed odds.
Randwick Race 6 #2 Fickle Folly
Fickle Folly ran a disappointing seventh at Rosehill over 1100m last start where she had no luck racing three wide the entire trip. She now switches back to her favoured distance of 1000m from which her form reads 5:3-2-0.
A further switch sees apprentice jockey Andrew Adkins replaced by senior jockey Robert Thompson who’s had two wins from three rides aboard the mare which includes a win at the Randwick 1000m two starts ago. A repeat of that performance will see another victory here.
Fickle Folly is currently $4.80 fixed odds.
Randwick Race 9 #3 Level Eight
Was restrained to last after copping a check from barrier ten last start where he battled on to finish midfield. The gelding gets to barrier three for this run which will see him sit closer in the run and allowed a more favourable trip. Hugh Bowman takes the ride from Christian Reith in a key switch from the Snowden training partnership.
Level Eight is currently $6 fixed odds.
Randwick Race 4 #6 The Frick
Trialled impressively alongside stablemate Kingsbridge over the Scone 900m where he carved a lane five wide the entire trip to cross the line well held with plenty of petrol left in the tank. Blake Shinn takes the ride which is a big show of confidence from the stable, and if trials are anything to go off, he looks the best each way bet of the day.
The Frick is currently $21 fixed odds.
Previous Start Price v Opening Price
Randwick Race 2 #2 Sokudo
Started $6 last start and ran above market expectations finishing 0.2L behind the highly rated Condemned. Sokudo was caught three wide with no cover for the majority of that run and then balanced up well in the straight to battle bravely to the line and narrowly miss. Given even luck, the colt would have taken line honours there. The bookies have retained the $6 fixed odds price which appears overs based on that run.
