Horses getting the favours on Saturday.
We’ve found two horses who have gone under the bookies’ radar this week as well as a runner getting track favours at Randwick.
Form Guide Finds
Randwick Race 7 #5 Cabeza de Vaca
Had excuses last start in driving rain at Rosehill when jockey Rachel King stated the gelding didn’t handle the conditions. Switches to a favourable dry surface here and will be allowed an easy lead.
The rise in class is a concern, however the Randwick 1600m is the perfect set-up for the Waterhouse-Bott trained runner who has two wins from three starts this preparation. Cabeza de Vaca is currently $8 Fixed Odds.
Previous Start Price vs Opening Price
Randwick Race 9 #9 Malaise
Jumped as $3.60 second favourite last start at Canterbury where he carried 62 kgs and had a disrupted run when forced four wide on the turn to finish second.
The James Cummings trained gelding has second-up form and gets 6 kg weight relief here. Will be in the mix.
Malaise is currently $6 Fixed Odds.
Speed Map Special
Randwick Race 6 #2 Sedanzer
Barrier 8 will suit given there will be three runners drawn outside her with early speed, allowing the mare to get the perfect trail into the race two-to-three pairs off the leader. She’ll be able to use her ability to quicken under pressure and put these to the sword.
Sedanzer is currently $3.20 Fixed Odds.
