Red hot favourite set to get rolled
Flemington Race 8 #1 Redzel $1.80
Typical hype horse following high profile Everest heroics and a long picket fence, who has come up way under the odds at $1.80 for this. Has to face a high quality field and even with the good record at the track, this Flemington straight does have a habit of throwing up an upset result. Key factor here is he loves to lead and grind them into the ground, however there is enough speed engaged on Saturday to pour on plenty of pressure at the front of the field softening him right up.
Represents no value at the current quote and would not surprise to see him jump even money or better. Bookies will be loving that the mugs have him anchoring every cross sport multi around the country. Big Lay.
Flemington Race 5 #13 Handsome Thief $3.60
Could not have dreamed of a better run last start, when sat in behind a cracking speed to run second. Gets good weight relief here dropping 6 kilos to 54kg but will certainly need it against this high quality field. Suspect he is drawn on the wrong side of the track in gate 2, where in recent times at Flemington for straight racing, the preferred lanes are towards the outside if not against the stand rail.
$3.60 is disgustingly short and once the so called “weights and measures gurus” have finished putting their money on, expect him to drift and start $4+.
