Pace is key for Warwick Farm speed maps on Saturday.
Warwick Farm is currently rated a Good 4 surface with fine weather forecasted and the rail situated in the true position. The last time we were at 'the Farm' was on Australia Day when the set-up suited on-pace runners with the rail out 5m. Look for the track to play more evenly here, however with small fields throughout the card, race tempo is expected to be slow which will benefit front runners.
Race 6 #3 Siege of Quebec
Will settle in the first two and should dictate the speed of the race in a small field of eight. With a lack of early speed engaged, expect the pace to be slower than true.
The Waterhouse-Bott trained colt has showed impressive late sectionals in all his previous runs and will lead his main rivals into the home turn, proving too hard to chase down. Siege of Quebec is currently $3.60 fixed odds.
Race 7#4 Bonny O’reilly
Jumps from barrier eight and should get the perfect trail following Memes who will pour on the pressure from barrier nine. The Bjorn Baker trained mare has shown her ability to sit just off the speed and produce strong finishing bursts in all her career victories to date.
In addition to the perfect speed-map set-up, her record over 1200m reads 6:4:0:0 with a first-up record of 4:3:0:0. Bonny O’reilly has been well supported in early markets and is currently $3.50 fixed odds.
