The San Diego Padres host the San Francisco Giants in the series of the week.

The Padres led by MVP candidate Manny Machado will be looking to bounce back after being wiped by the best team in baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The recent acquisition of Juan Soto has filled Padres fans with the hope of a World Series charge. 

If they are going to do so these are the series they need to win.

San Francisco Giants (A Wood) @ San Diego Padres (B Snell)

MLB Betting Odds: Giants $2.53 / Padres $1.52

Whilst Blake Snell hasn't been at his dominant best in 2022, he is still equipped to steer this powerhouse of a Padres team around.

Granted he is able to restrict the struggling Pirates offence to less than 3 runs, this should be a breeze for the Padres.

Alex Wood is one of the Giant's best this season, but the wheels have fallen off in recent starts.

Whilst I am expecting an improved performance, it's unlikely to be enough.
